Position Summary:

The Transport Specialist is tasked with operating company-owned truck-trailer combinations. This role requires a thorough understanding of commercial driving regulations to ensure the safe and timely transportation and delivery of oilfield equipment.

Compensation: Starting pay is $22.30 per hour, subject to adjustment based on experience.

Work Schedule: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with potential overtime as business needs arise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all Hours-of-Service Regulations and comply with state, local, and federal guidelines.
  • Utilize Electronic Logging Devices as required.
  • Conduct inspections of truck and trailer combinations before and after trips, submitting reports on their condition.
  • Secure loads on trailers to guarantee safe transport.
  • Assist with the loading and unloading of trucks.
  • Perform routine maintenance on the truck, including oil, fuel, and radiator fluid checks.
  • Complete Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and Point of Work Risk Assessments (POWRAs).
  • Ensure compliance with Journey Management protocols, tracking driving hours through a third-party service.
  • Maintain organized and legible documentation for all associated paperwork.
  • Possess knowledge of SPM Oil and Gas products and customer requirements.
  • Care for and maintain all tools, trucks, and trailers appropriately.
  • Be willing to travel, including occasional overnight stays.
  • Drive company vehicles as necessary to fulfill job duties.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years of relevant experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Possession of a valid and current Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Maintain a clean driving record, generally defined as:
    • No more than two moving violations within the last 12 months.
    • No more than three moving violations in the past three years.
  • Exhibit consistency, accountability, reliability, and a strong work ethic.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands for handling, reach with arms, and communicate effectively.
  • Must be able to sit, climb, balance, and perform actions such as stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
  • Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to wear protective footwear and other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.

Work Environment:

  • Regular exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
  • Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts and outdoor weather conditions.
  • Occasional exposure to high, precarious places and vibrations.
  • Moderate noise level.
