Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Officer to join our team at Unified Strategic Resources. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our facilities and personnel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Access Control: Regulate and monitor access to restricted areas, ensuring only authorized personnel enter the facility.
  • Traffic Management: Control and direct pedestrian and vehicular traffic to maintain a secure and efficient flow of people and vehicles.
  • Inspections: Conduct thorough inspections of private and commercial vehicles, as well as packages, to ensure compliance with security protocols.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to emergency situations, such as accidents, drills, and natural disasters, to protect the safety of life and property.
  • Security Operations: Participate in entry control and vehicle inspection teams, providing technical direction and support as needed.
Requirements
  • Citizenship: Must be a US Citizen.
  • Background Check: Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Direct Deposit: Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
  • E-Verify: New employees must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
  • Selective Service: Males born after must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Driver's License: Must obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
  • Physical Examination: Must successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • Security Clearance: Must obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
  • Firearms: Must be qualified to possess firearms or ammunition.
  • Drug Test: Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
  • Travel: May be required to travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites.
Qualifications

To be considered for this position, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Your resume must demonstrate the following:

  • Identification Authentication: Authenticating identification for access to restricted areas.
  • Traffic Regulation: Regulating pedestrian and vehicular traffic to maintain traffic flow and security operations.
  • Access Granting/Denying: Granting or denying personnel access into restricted areas.
  • Inspections: Performing private and commercial vehicle inspections and package inspections following prescribed procedures to ensure only authorized property is brought into or removed from facilities.
Additional Information

This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. This announcement uses the Defense Industrial Base, Major Range and Test Facilities direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service. Several vacancies may be filled. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the selectee fails to meet the pre-employment requirements, including failure to report to any of the scheduled appointments.

Physical Demands

The work requires regular and recurring physical exertion such as long periods of standing, walking, driving, bending, stooping, reaching, crawling, and similar activities. Employees engage in such exertions when pursuing and detaining suspects or participating in weapons or other kinds of training activities, climbing stairs in office buildings, or walking foot patrols in and around large buildings.

Work Environment

The work environment regularly involves high risks with exposure to potentially dangerous situations or unusual environmental stress which require a range of safety and other precautions. This level includes work in a high-risk area where the public has easy access and guards perform their duties in locations where persons may be armed while attempting criminal activity, espionage, subversion, sabotage, and terrorism directed against the Navy installations, which can lead to assault with or without a weapon in order to avoid arrest.
