Customer Service / Sales
  • Builds strong relationships with customers in varying situations
  • Takes orders from customers; assists with menu / beverage selections, including alcoholic beverages
  • Provides detailed information on menu items and specials, and beer and wine
  • Serves food, drink, and products to guests
  • Processes cash, check, debit, and credit transactions accurately and quickly
  • Uses suggestive selling techniques / merchandises effectively to meet guest needs and build department sales
  • Interacts positively with customers in person, on the phone, or through technology
  • Assists with catering orders as needed
  • Addresses complaints; resolves problems in a way that builds relationships
  • Models teamwork to ensure a great guest experience
  • Prepares, packages, merchandises product
Compliance / Food Safety / Sanitation
  • Ensures compliance with TABC regulations
  • Ensures compliance with department and Store standard operating procedures
  • Buses / cleans tables; performs deep clean of dining, ordering, bar areas, as needed
  • Maintains beverage station and bar areas
  • Maintains sanitation in food / beverage prep areas and display cases
  • Properly handles, operates, and maintains equipment

As an Order Taker/Runner at H-E-B, you will play a key role in the overall H-E-B Restaurant guest experience by providing positive and memorable service while taking guest orders, preparing drinks, delivering food, and maintaining cleanliness of the dining area and patio. Once you're eligible, you'll become an Owner in the company, so we're looking for commitment, hard work, and focus on quality and Customer service. We offer a fast-paced, retail environment with extended hours and / or rotating schedules. You will be required to safely maneuver around moving mechanical parts, constantly reach at waist, grasp, frequently be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic materials, and occasionally reach at overhead, reach at shoulder, reach at knee, reach at floor, bend, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, climb stairs, pivot, twist, push / pull with arms, pinch, perform fine motor movements, shoulder circumduction, and demonstrate the ability to lift 50 lbs, and manage in excess of 50 lbs.
