Clinical Nurse Coordinator RN NICU Leader

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to take on a leadership role as a Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Johnston-Willis Hospital. In this position, you will have the opportunity to mentor and support your team to achieve the best outcomes for critically ill newborns requiring specialized care.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high-quality patient-centered care.
- Participate in the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in the unit, in collaboration with other members of the management team.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and other managers to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service.
- Perform therapeutic patient-centered nursing care to infants with complex health conditions, as a role model for staff.
- Support a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary.
- Support the efforts of the facility to improve engagement by operationalizing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives.
- Provide recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff, as well as implementing courses of action to ensure a competitively better organization.
- Assist with staff scheduling and manage all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines.
- Support proper inventory control and assist with managing supplies and equipment.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
- Current Registered Nurse License in Virginia or Current Multistate Compact License.
- 3+ years of current nursing experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
- 1 year of NICU nursing experience in an acute care hospital setting.
- 1 year of leadership experience in a hospital setting preferred.
- Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS or BCLS) Certification.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
