Job Title: Registered Dental Assistant

About the Role:

Familia Dental is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Dental Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our dental team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our dentists in delivering high-quality dental services.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist dentists in providing dental care to patients, ensuring a safe and efficient treatment environment.
  • Prepare and maintain treatment rooms, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available.
  • Take and record patient medical and dental histories, vital signs, and other relevant information.
  • Document all dental procedures performed during each patient visit, adhering to legal requirements and dentist instructions.
  • Develop and take dental diagnostic x-rays, pour and base diagnostic models, and fabricate temporary restorations as permitted by state law.
  • Sterilize and disinfect instruments, set up instrument trays, prepare materials, and assist dentists during procedures.
  • Provide dental education and information to patients, promoting oral health awareness and strategies for maintaining good oral hygiene.
  • Notify the Office Manager of equipment issues or general safety concerns.
  • Participate in morning huddles, chart reviews, and regular office meetings.
  • Recognize and respond to patients' emotions, providing empathetic care and support.
  • Understand and adhere to company policies, procedures, state, and federal laws related to dental offices.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • Registered as a DA through the state of Texas.
  • Exceptional customer service skills, with excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills.
  • Basic computer knowledge and experience with dental management software, preferably Denticon.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment.
  • Detail-oriented, with the ability to carry out written and verbal instructions.
  • Organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Meet state requirements for DA duties, continuing education, or license; Basic Life Support (BLS), cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certificate, and radiography certificate.
  • Dental assisting experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Experience working in healthcare or a related field is strongly preferred.

Availability/Schedule:

Business Hours: M-F, 9 AM - 6 PM and Sat, 9 AM - 4 PM.

Full-time employment: 4+ days a week, 30-40 hours per week, available to work Saturdays when needed, full shifts (8-10 hours).

Part-time employment: 2+ days a week, 29 hours or less per week, available to work Saturdays when needed, multiple half-day shifts or fewer full-day shifts.
