Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Retirement Accounts Specialist to join our team at Benjamin F. Edwards & Co. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for handling complex transactions and providing subject matter expertise involving tax-qualified accounts to our home and branch office personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support day-to-day needs involving qualified accounts.
  • Review and validate all required IRA documentation and transaction coding to ensure proper tax reporting.
  • Analyze and resolve complex issues that may cause incorrect tax reporting.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of evolving tax laws.
  • Train other team members.
  • Coordinate efforts with the custodian, Legal, and branch & home office personnel to resolve complex issues that require additional processing and documentation.
  • Act as subject matter expert to provide appropriate solutions to our advisors.
  • Engage with our advisors, custodian, and service team members to drive efficiencies, manage escalations, deliver core services, and improve the overall client/advisor experience.

  • Motivated self-starter, open-minded and intellectually curious.
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve operational issues.
  • Possess an excellent understanding of IRS regulations involving tax withholding and reporting.
  • Constant learner, with the ability to think strategically and work effectively.
  • Ability to interpret and communicate complex information effectively.
  • Comfortable with technology, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and collaborative software.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment with the ability to interact well with co-workers and management.
  • Motivation to provide consistently excellent customer service.

Education and/or Work Experience:

  • Minimum Work Experience: 3+ years of financial services industry experience, including qualified account operations

Licenses/Registration:

  • Minimum Required: Series 99 & SIE or ability to obtain licenses within the first year of hire.

Work Environment:

This position requires the ability to work in a stationary position for several hours at a time and the ability to lift up to 25 pounds, occasionally. Some filing is required. The work environment is an air-conditioned, smoke-free, office environment. This position routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets.
