Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Respiratory Care Instructor to join our team at Spartanburg Community College. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Respiratory Care courses to a diverse student body, developing and revising course materials, and participating in professional development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach Respiratory Care courses using effective teaching strategies and develop, revise, and maintain course materials.
  • Recommend and design new programs to meet the needs of our students and the community.
  • Maintain office hours and participate in College and community activities to promote the mission of the College.
  • Develop and implement retention strategies to support student success.
  • Assist in graduate placement and attend graduation ceremonies.
  • Participate in student advising and registration, and serve on College committees.
Requirements

To be considered for this position, applicants must have a degree in Respiratory Care from an accredited institution and be a Registered Respiratory Therapist with a current SC license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner and an active member of the AARC.

An associate's degree with a minimum of four years of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist with two years in critical care is also acceptable.
