Berry Companies is preparing to expand its Portable Power division, focusing on Air Compressors, Generators, and Light Towers. We are in search of a skilled technician with a background in servicing Portable Power units.

Position Overview
This role involves delivering exceptional repair services on Portable Power machinery to fulfill customer requirements in a prompt, courteous, knowledgeable, and efficient manner. Responsibilities include conducting basic diagnostics, performing service repairs, and executing maintenance tasks on both customer-owned and dealer-owned equipment. The technician will also be tasked with diagnosing issues related to mechanical, hydraulic, diesel, and electrical systems and implementing effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality repair services to meet customer expectations in a timely and friendly manner.
  • Conduct basic diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance on portable power units (Air Compressors, Generators, and Light Towers).
  • Engage in Service Training programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Document all repairs and testing for customer and warranty services.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Service Supervisor or management.
Required Qualifications
  • Prior experience working with commercial and industrial generators/compressors.
  • Preferred familiarity with electrical and mechanical systems (including generators, switchgear, UPS systems, ATS units).
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
  • Possession of an inventory of hand tools necessary for assigned repairs.
  • 3-5 years of experience with portable power equipment.
  • A collaborative team player with a strong commitment to customer service.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to use hands and fingers to operate construction equipment.
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of weights, with frequent lifting of 20-50 pounds and continuous lifting of 10-20 pounds.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, grasp or pull and lift objects. Occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, kneel, stoop, crouch, and crawl.
  • Consistent exposure to outdoor weather conditions, fumes, and loud noise.
