Key Responsibilities
  • Pre-Operative Preparation: Prepare the operating room and equipment for surgical procedures, ensuring that all necessary supplies and instruments are available.
  • Scrub Role: Assist the surgeon and other medical staff during surgical procedures, maintaining a high level of sterile technique and attention to detail.
  • Instrument Management: Clean and prepare instruments for terminal sterilization, and assist in the maintenance of a clean and organized operating room.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with the surgical team, including the surgeon, anesthesiologist, and nurses, to ensure a smooth and efficient surgical process.
  • Quality Assurance: Participate in quality assurance activities, including the maintenance of accurate records and the reporting of any issues or concerns.
Requirements
  • Education: Graduation from an accredited program for Operating Room Technicians.
  • Certification: Current BLS Certification through AHA or ARC, current CST Certification preferred, Registration as a Surgical Tech by Colorado Division of Regulatory Agencies (DORA).
  • Experience: Minimum of one year of experience as a Surgery Technician, with advanced knowledge in the scrub role and responsibilities for majority of surgical specialties.
