Job Title: Health Services Director

The Spokane Tribe of Indians is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health Services Director to lead our Health and Human Services Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of comprehensive health and human services programs, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and laws, and providing administrative direction and leadership to department staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for health and human services programs, including budgeting and resource allocation.
  • Provide administrative direction and leadership to department staff, including supervision, training, and performance evaluation.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and laws, including HIPAA, Medicaid, and Indian Health Service requirements.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including tribal, state, and federal agencies, as well as community organizations and providers.
  • Manage and oversee the department's budget, including financial planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure effective program delivery and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to department staff on program development, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Collaborate with other department directors and tribal leaders to ensure alignment with tribal goals and objectives.
Requirements:
  • Masters degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience as an administrator in healthcare, social services, or related fields, with supervisory, policy, and financial management responsibilities.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in tribal communities, including both administrative and direct client contact.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and consensus-building abilities, with ability to develop and maintain a cohesive management team.
  • Valid Washington State Driver's License, good driving record, and tribal insurability.
  • Pass a criminal background check.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and policies related to healthcare and social services.
  • Experience with tribal health and human services programs, including Medicaid and Indian Health Service requirements.
  • Knowledge of current literature, trends, and funding opportunities in healthcare and social services.
  • Ability to express ideas effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to respond timely to emergencies and provide leadership in crisis situations.
