**Key Responsibilities:**
* Screen patients and others prior to admittance into the MRI scanning room
* Ensure all MRI clinical equipment and supplies are MRI compatible
* Emphasize patient safety practices
* Identify patients and procedures
* Complete appropriate MR questionnaires
* Use proper hand hygiene technique
* Follow established contrast administration protocol to ensure safe contrast administration
* Position patients accurately for all MR procedures for optimum visibility of required anatomy
* Know and adhere to protocol regarding patients with cardiac pacemakers
* Select proper surface coils and apply knowledge of and adhere to scanning protocols
* Mark studies ready to read in PACS in a timely manner for interpretation as soon as possible after completion of exam
* Ensure all information is in PenRad for Breast patients, and Images are sent to DynaCAD for the Radiologists
* Obtain appropriate supplies and prepare room for patient
* Inject contrast material using proper technique based on type of contrast needed for the particular body part and size of the patient
* Obtain any contrast reaction history and monitor for and respond appropriately to any contrast reaction
* Initiate IV access for contrast administration
* Apply proper sterile technique
* Be proficient using power injector or manually injecting contrast material via IV access
* Keep room cleaned and stocked at all times and maintain safe environment of care
* Respond to codes and other emergency situations appropriately
* Participate in QC activities
**Customer Service:**
* Employ principles of AIDET
* Communicate with patient concerning MR questionnaire and other pertinent clinical history
* Explain MR procedure to patient and/or family member
* Obtain completed questionnaire and proper history and clinical from patient physician's office
* Ensure patients and / or visitors are free of objects or implanted devices that might be contradicted to MRI
**Administrative:**
* Acquire requisition and validate appropriate clinical charge
* Complete all EPIC exam activities, and document and / or scans appropriate information
* Charge procedure, supply and surgical codes when exam is completed
* Operate the PAC's system appropriately and verify studies before sending to archive
* Report equipment problems to manager and document confirmation numbers
* Maintain teaching files
* Communicate with radiologist to determine appropriate protocols for each exam
* Ensure scan conducted and exam name correspond in EPIC EMR, PACS, and charges
* Perform accreditation activities and meet standards and regulations
* Maintain technologist credential records
* Maintain SCDHEC/accreditation/compliance manual
**Requirements:**
* Associate's degree with completion of accredited radiology program
* 1 year diagnostic radiology, enrollment in MR preferred
* Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses: MRI Technologist Certified, ARRT Radiological Technologist (ARRT), SCRSQA South Carolina Radiology Quality Standards Association (SCRSQA), AHA/BLS cardiopulmonary resuscitation CPR
