Job Summary and Responsibilities: As a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department, you will be responsible for triaging, assessing, and treating patients of all ages who require emergency care. Our team provides prompt and compassionate treatment for a variety of urgent and life-threatening conditions. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Documenting relevant nursing notes to reflect changes in patient condition, transfers, and discharges.
  • Administering medications as per physician directives.
  • Handling incoming calls, including phone triage when necessary.
  • Understanding and managing all care zones within the emergency department.
  • Coordinating and triaging incoming ambulance traffic.
  • Collaborating with primary emergency department physicians.
  • Utilizing the Emergency Severity Index 5-level triage algorithm.
  • Responding to critical situations and serving as a resource for trauma cases.
  • Educating patients and their families about medications, procedures, and treatments.

Qualifications:
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program with an Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the practicing state or possession of an active Compact/Multi-State RN license.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Life Support (PALS) certifications are preferred and must be obtained within 12 months of hire.
  • Previous experience in emergency, pre-hospital, or critical care nursing is preferred.
