Position Overview

Insight Global is on the lookout for a Professional Engineer with a specialization in Structural Engineering. This role encompasses a variety of responsibilities, primarily focusing on designing structures, mentoring early-career engineers, and handling administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design Work: Approximately 60% of your time will be dedicated to the design of multi-story buildings, typically ranging from 1 to 5 levels.
  • Mentorship: You will spend around 15% of your time guiding and supporting Engineers in Training (EITs).
  • Administrative Duties: The remaining 25% will involve various administrative responsibilities.
Project Details

The projects you will be involved in vary significantly, with clients including government entities, private sector companies, and municipal organizations. You can expect to manage 2-3 projects concurrently, with regular collaboration with architects.

Work Environment

This position offers a hybrid work model, requiring onsite presence in Virginia Beach for three days a week. Minimal travel (approximately 5%) may be necessary.

Qualifications
  • Ability to obtain Secret Clearance
  • Experience or exposure to Geotechnical Engineering
  • 8+ years of experience in Structural Engineering
  • Must hold a Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Familiarity with building codes and standards for steel and concrete
  • Experience in designing multi-story buildings
  • Knowledge of deep pile and shallow bearing foundations
  • Proficiency in hand calculations to validate computer-generated outputs
