About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Middle School Social Studies Teacher to join our team at Strive Collegiate Academy. As a key member of our faculty, you will play a vital role in empowering our students with a literacy-based curriculum aligned across all content areas, fostering a culture that encourages leadership, virtue, and excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners, utilizing a variety of presentation methods to promote student engagement and academic growth.
  • Use data-driven instruction to inform daily instructional decisions, personalizing learning for students and adults, and implementing targeted interventions and accelerations as needed.
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes good behavior and adheres to our school-wide culture management system.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with parents, communicating regularly to inform them of their students' academic and personal growth.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement school-wide initiatives that support student success and academic excellence.
  • Participate in regular professional development to stay current on best practices and research-based methods in social studies education.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Studies Education or a related field.
  • Valid Tennessee Teaching Credential or commitment to obtain one.
  • Minimum of two years of classroom instruction experience, preferably in a middle school setting.
  • Experience in improving student academic performance and behavior, with a focus on literacy-based curriculum.
  • Strong knowledge of state requirements and curriculum standards, with the ability to align lesson plans accordingly.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
