Responsibilities:- Perform preventative maintenance on diesel tractors, trailers, and refrigeration units
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment problems
- Repair any equipment problems and answer drivers' telephone requests for assistance with equipment failure while out on the road
- Maintain and repair all equipment to include engine, starting and charging, electrical, body, wheels, brakes, suspension, and interior
- Supply own tools up to 1/2" drive size with the proper toolbox, including air tools
- Follow company procedures and ensure a safe work environment
- Responsible for performing all job duties with honesty and integrity
- High School Diploma or GED certification
- Valid DOT physical card and a driver's license
- Certification in the use of refrigerants, recycling equipment, AC, and heavy brakes
- Ability to drive a repair vehicle off the premises to perform emergency repairs on the road
- Ability to work full time with the ability to work any shift and be on call 24 hours a day
Preferred: Mechanical or trade school certification, strong electrical background with Volvo/Cummins experience, welding (TIG, MIG, Stick)
