As the Chief Guest Relations Officer, you will play a vital role in delivering an exceptional experience for all visitors to West Virginia University Hospitals, Inc.
Your responsibilities will include proactive engagement with patients, family members, visitors, vendors, and staff to ensure that every interaction is meaningful and that all needs are addressed promptly and professionally.
Under general supervision, you will perform a variety of tasks, including assisting with transportation from vehicles to building entrances, screening, escorting patients to departments, retrieving badges, and overseeing waiting areas, among other supportive duties.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. High School Diploma or Equivalent.
2. Valid Driver's License.
EXPERIENCE:
1. A minimum of two years' experience in a high-contact customer service role or a similar environment with demonstrated above-standard performance.

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Coordinate daily team functions to ensure that all assigned tasks are completed efficiently. Support staff by fostering cooperative problem-solving, team building, and maintaining a professional demeanor. Serve as a role model for fellow team members.
Assist with training and address any shift training issues. Make recommendations to management and staff to enhance departmental operations. Communicate effectively with and relay information to the incoming shift.
Provide a warm welcome to patients, family members, visitors, and vendors upon their arrival. Help manage traffic flow in and out of the assigned area. Anticipate customer needs and concerns, respond to inquiries, and take appropriate actions to resolve issues.
Maintain an adequate supply of wheelchairs for use at the front entrance of the designated area, ensuring they are clean and accessible. Assist patients from their vehicles and help them into wheelchairs if necessary, utilizing safe patient handling equipment in accordance with policy and procedure.
