Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Officer to join our team at WVUH. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for providing a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and supervise traffic control to ensure a smooth flow of people and vehicles.
  • Assist nursing staff as requested by the Chief Security Officer to provide exceptional patient care.
  • Participate in patient safety training and patient protection initiatives to prevent medical errors and abuse.
  • Conduct regular rounds of the hospital to ensure all exit doors and windows are properly locked.
  • Patrol parking areas to prevent vandalism and ensure children are not playing in or around cars.
  • Tour hospital buildings and construction areas to prevent theft, vandalism, and equipment malfunctions.
  • Be knowledgeable about firefighting equipment and procedures to respond to emergencies.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Prior experience in the security field is preferred.
Working Environment

The Security Officer will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to outside weather conditions. The ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods is required, as well as the ability to lift, push, or pull 50 pounds.
