Aviation Operations Specialist

AAR is a global aerospace and defense company seeking an experienced pilot to serve as the Pilot in Command and Second in Command of our DHC-8 aircraft. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of aviation regulations and procedures.
">Key Responsibilities- Flight Planning: Prepare or supervise preparation of flight plans, considering factors such as altitude, terrain, weather, range, weight, cruise control data, airport facilities, and navigational aids.
- Aircraft Inspection: Ensure proper flight kit is aboard, that required airworthiness inspections have been accomplished, and any previous discrepancies have been corrected or properly deferred.
- Crew Management: Supervise or accomplish the aircraft preflight inspection and preparation, ensure proper loading, distributing, and security of agent, and determine that aircraft weight and balance is within prescribed limits.
- Maintenance and Record Keeping: Prepare Aircraft Flight Maintenance Log, Load Manifest and Discrepancy Record form, and ensure that a copy of each is delivered to the Operation Support Manager for filing upon the completion of each flight assignment.
- Education: High school diploma or GED.
- FAA Certificates: Commercial and Instrument Airman's Certificate Airplane MEL, FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit, and Current FAA Class II Medical certificate.
- Experience: 1500 total fixed wing flight hours including 500 hours of turbine engine time, and 250 hours MEL pilot in command.
- Additional Requirements: Ability to pass physical screening, passport with 18 months remaining, willingness to relocate, and unrestricted type rating.
- Salary: $90,000 - $120,000 per year (based on experience and qualifications).
