  • Investigate incidents and crimes, including reviewing evidence, interviewing witnesses and suspects, and preparing reports.
  • Enforce laws and regulations, including traffic laws, to ensure a safe and orderly environment.
  • Participate in community outreach and education efforts to promote safety and awareness.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or higher preferred.
  • Must be at least 19 years of age and a U.S. citizen.
  • Must have completed a basic training program for law enforcement approved by the Florida Commission on Law Enforcement Accreditation (CJSTC) and pass the Florida certification examination.
  • Must have a valid Florida driver's license with a good driving history.
  • Must be able to pass a physical agility test and firearms training.
Working Conditions

The Deputy Sheriff School Safety Officer will work in a fast-paced environment, often under stressful conditions. The position requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong emphasis on communication and collaboration. The Deputy Sheriff School Safety Officer will be required to work a varied schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
