Supervise and manage the planning, installation, delivery, operation, and maintenance of essential Operations Technology computing systems and communication infrastructure that underpin the Traffic Operations Program.

Ensure compliance with COV Information Technology Resources Management (ITRM) Security Policies, Standards, and guidelines for all systems. Guarantee that the implementation of new technologies aligns with the goal of achieving statewide consistency and standardization across all TOCs.

Essential Qualifications


• Proficient in analyzing issues, identifying solutions, and executing recommendations to support organizational objectives.

• Familiarity with project management principles and practices relevant to electronic or information technology systems.

• Ability to enforce safety standards and procedures for users concerning equipment operation and work tasks.

• Expertise in leading, managing, and facilitating technical workgroups.

• Proficient in utilizing computers and software applications.

• Knowledgeable in 24/7 systems operations and maintenance, as well as systems and communications technologies pertinent to transportation systems.

• Willingness to share 24/7 on-call responsibilities and be available for emergency responses as necessary.

Additional Considerations


• A combination of training, experience, or education in Information Technology, Transportation Technology, or a related field is preferred.

• Experience in managing or supervising electronic and information technology systems is advantageous.

• Familiarity with traffic management systems is beneficial.

• Proven leadership experience in transportation with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and complex environment.

• Understanding of basic facilities maintenance and inventory practices.

• Experience in managing large-scale technology-focused programs or projects is a plus.

Special Instructions

This position requires a fingerprint-based Criminal History Background Check, DMV Record Check, and Work History Verification with references. This role may involve limited telework opportunities, subject to approval as outlined in the Commonwealth telework policy. However, the successful candidate will be expected to report to the designated office several days each work week.
