Job Title: Collaborative Health Visiting Professor

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced nursing professional to join our team as a Collaborative Health Visiting Professor. As a key member of our faculty, you will be responsible for teaching and mentoring nursing students in a clinical setting, providing guidance and support to help them develop the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their careers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching and Clinical Instruction: Implement the College's philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes, and course objectives through clinical teaching and service to the College, community, health system, and profession.
  • Clinical Supervision: Plan clinical experiences for and provide direct supervision and evaluation of nursing students delivering nursing care to an individual or group of individuals.
  • Student Evaluation and Feedback: Evaluate and provide documented feedback to students on their level of performance based on course objectives.
  • Remediation and Support: Be available for remediation of students as required or needed.
  • Agency and Clinical Partnerships: Orient and maintain current knowledge related to agency/clinical policies, procedures, and expectations with the assistance of the agency/clinical personnel.
  • Course Development and Management: Develop and post written clinical assignments consistent with student's knowledge base, skill competency, and individual learning needs.
  • Grading and Assessment: Grade homework, quizzes, tests, lab assignments, clinical paperwork, and other written work in a timely manner.
  • Didactic Teaching: May teach didactic course content under supervision of course coordinator.
  • Communication and Reporting: Keep course coordinator informed of all student and agency issues and concerns.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master's or doctoral degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • Licensure: Unencumbered professional nursing license in the state of Kansas. An IL nursing license will be required before accepting any clinical contract for a given session.
  • Experience: At least two years of professional experience within the last five years in the area of instruction as a registered nurse.
  • Teaching or Precepting Experience: Preferred but not required.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Exceptional subject matter expertise with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Passion for Nursing and Education: Genuine passion for nursing, education, and lifelong learning.
  • COVID-19 Vaccination: Proof of COVID-19 vaccination may be required to teach at certain clinical partner sites.
