Job Title: Phlebotomist

As a Phlebotomist at Actalent, you will be responsible for greeting patients, performing blood draws, labeling specimens, and recording maintenance data. You will also be responsible for decontamination, updating patient information, and ensuring all test requisitions or computer labels are 100% correct.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
  • Properly explains the process of venipuncture and/or other specimen collection in a clear but courteous manner.
  • Demonstrates techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
  • Fully understands all physicians' orders.
  • Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes, labels, centrifuges, splits, and freezes specimens as required by test order.
  • Packages specimens for transport and stores them according to required temperatures.
  • Complies with OSHA and DEP regulations.
  • Attends annual department training.
  • Answers telephone calls and reads laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.
  • Preps the site, handles insurance, billing, and processes samples.
  • Provides excellent customer service to patients.

Work Environment:

This is a fully on-site position in Portland, Oregon. The candidate will be trained to cover Legacy Tox locations. Based out of Holladay Park location, must be able to float at 2 other locations and training location, all within 25 miles of each other.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM (hours will vary depending on location)

Contract Duration: 3 Months. LabCorp contracts are initially slated for 3-6 months, with an average extension of 6-9 months. There is an opportunity to go direct, depending on business need and performance.
