Emergency Services Department Manager RN

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced RN to join our Emergency Services Department as an Assistant Manager. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing operational supervision of direct patient care emergency medicine and nursing services and personnel in assigned functional units/areas within our 24/7 Emergency Services Department.
Key Responsibilities- Provide operational supervision of direct patient care emergency medicine and nursing services and personnel in assigned functional units/areas.
- Ensure that healthcare team/staff provide high-quality, cost-effective care and patient-focused services that comply with all organizational, departmental, and local, state, and federal regulatory requirements.
- Implement, monitor, maintain, and evaluate clinical nursing practice, quality, cost, service, and utilization management standards.
- Serve as a manager, practitioner, educator, mentor, and consultant, guiding nursing leadership toward excellence in practice.
- Collaborate with leadership and peers to develop, implement, review, and revise standards, policies, and procedures according to national standards, department policies, and accreditation standards.
- Ensure that the highest quality of care is provided that complies with the Nursing Practice Act, TJC, federal, state, and local regulatory requirements, established departmental policies/procedures, and standards.
- Evaluate/monitor and improve quality of service and utilization standards and responsible for coordinating/providing patient care that meets member, physician/provider, and internal clients' needs across the continuum of care.
- Investigate, recommend, and implement/evaluate processes/practices to improve systems and patient care.
- Monitor, improve, and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; develop staff; counsel staff regarding performance issues; resolve human resources and labor relations issues; responsible on the first level for hiring, termination, discipline, promotion, and demotion.
- Ensure staff development, collaborate with Clinical Education staff to meet identified core and unit-focused competencies, and ensure staff completion of mandatory training according to nursing policy.
- Collaborate with other managers and departments in developing appropriate levels of services; measuring and improving internal and external customer satisfaction; meeting access demands and service needs; improving the cost structure.
- Investigate and resolve patient/family/member concerns regarding patient care and service quality.
- Monitor and expedites patient care as indicated by patient condition; assigns patients to staff as indicated by acuity.
- Develop and implement plans/projects to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Maintain a safe environment and track the status of identified problems or areas of non-compliance to ensure the effectiveness of corrective action.
- Minimum three (3) years of clinical experience in emergency or critical care nursing services, including one (1) year of management, supervisory, or leadership experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or four (4) years of experience in a directly related field required.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Registered Nurse License (Hawaii) required at hire.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Basic Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support certifications required.
- Masters degree preferred.
- Emergency Nursing Certificate preferred.
