The Coppin State University First-Year Experience is a comprehensive program designed to support student success from the moment they arrive on campus. As a Student Civic Engagement Program Coordinator, you will play a critical role in implementing this program and making a meaningful impact on the lives of our students.

Under the guidance of staff within the Eagle Achievement Center, you will work collaboratively with Transform Mid-Atlantic (TMA) and Coppin Admissions to create a cohesive voice on student expectations and the student experience. You will also partner with faculty members to integrate intentional elements into the First-Year Seminar course that align with the out-of-class experiences managed by the Eagle Achievement Center.

The Second-Year Experience, a new initiative at Coppin, will build upon the outcomes of the first year and provide students with opportunities to take on leadership roles in service learning projects. As a Student Civic Engagement Program Coordinator, you will be responsible for developing service project opportunities, connecting with non-profit organizations, and guiding students in the development of community engagement initiatives.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Guide students in the development of community-based projects and events

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field
