Dining Room Manager

The Dining Room Manager is responsible for overseeing the efficient operation of the front-of-house (FOH) and ensuring that high standards of production, quality, and customer service are consistently met. This role involves supervising and coordinating the activities of dining room staff to provide timely and courteous service to residents and guests.

Essential Qualifications

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting safety guidelines, operational manuals, and procedural documents. Capable of writing routine reports and correspondence. Effective communication skills for addressing groups of customers or staff.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in following written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions. Competent in resolving issues involving multiple concrete variables in standardized scenarios.
  • Maintains a high energy level and demonstrates self-motivation.
  • Upholds exceptionally high standards in all work tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage staffing processes including interviewing, hiring, training, coaching, and scheduling of dining room personnel.
  • Organize dining reservations and coordinate special services for guests.
  • Welcome guests, escort them to their tables, and present menus.
  • Address and resolve any complaints to ensure a positive dining experience for all patrons.
  • Delegate work tasks and coordinate the activities of dining room staff to guarantee prompt and courteous service.
  • Inspect dining areas for cleanliness and organization.
  • Maintain inventory of table linens and dining supplies.
  • Train dining room staff in proper service etiquette.
  • Continuously strive for improvement within the organization.
