About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our team at Freeport-McMoRan. As an Electrical Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing electrical maintenance and repairs on our industrial equipment and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform electrical maintenance and repairs on industrial equipment and systems, including removal, repair, and installation of electrical components and systems.
  • Analyze and diagnose electrical systems to identify and resolve issues.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on electrical equipment and systems to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance teams to ensure seamless operation of our industrial processes.
  • Develop and implement electrical maintenance procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or trade school certification in electrical or instrumentation technology preferred.
  • Minimum of four years of experience in industrial electrical maintenance and repair; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including AC/DC drives, PLCs, and instrumentation devices.
  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals, prints, and schematics.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Working Conditions
  • Work in a manufacturing plant environment with exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electric shock, toxic chemicals, fumes, or airborne particles.
  • Occasionally lift moderately heavy to heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during the course of the workday.
  • Work rotating shifts in a 24/7/365 operation.
  • Personal protective equipment required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing, or plant environment.
