New Leaf Energy is seeking a highly skilled Civil Project Engineer II to join our team supporting utility-scale solar PV and energy storage project development.
In this role, you will work closely with engineers, project developers, and engineering consultants to review, design, and secure permits for prospective projects.
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for balancing due diligence efforts with project risks to support the ongoing development of projects at New Leaf Energy.
Key Responsibilities- Site review, zoning/bylaws review, and outlining entitlement path
- Managing survey, environmental, and engineering sub-consultants, as well as working with staff engineers
- Becoming familiar with and ensuring overall consistency with New Leaf Energy's Utility-Scale Value Stream Map (VSM)
- Working with state agencies, towns, and other stakeholders, as well as presenting to planning/zoning boards, state, and federal agencies
- Developing permit documentation as necessary
- Assisting in the continued development of standard details, notes, and specifications
- Reviewing design drawings prepared by in-house or external designers
- 6-12 years of experience in site development, entitlement, and environmental permitting (municipal, state, federal)
- Solar PV or energy storage experience desired
- Regional Transmission Organization (RTO) level permitting coordination experience desired
- Experience in cost estimation, reviewing engineering services contracts, managing subconsultants
- AutoCAD Civil 3D and HYDROCAD (or equivalent design tools) proficiency desired
- Ability to communicate design concepts and lead meetings between clients, engineers, regulatory officials, and consultants
- Ability to manage multiple projects while being highly motivated, detailed, and organized
New Leaf Energy compensates all employees in three ways: market-competitive base salary, plus above-market variable compensation, plus an equity-like program.
We use a data-driven and transparent methodology to calibrate compensation that is externally competitive and internally equitable.
Under our compensation framework, the likely base salary range for this position is $121,200-$140,000, with an on-target annual cash bonus of 20% of base salary.
