Responsibilities
State Farm Staff Counsel, Wade S. Anderson & Associates, is looking for an Attorney licensed in Alabama to enhance their team in Birmingham, AL. Ideal candidates will have a strong understanding of civil trial procedures, excellent research skills, and outstanding written and verbal advocacy abilities.

Candidates must be organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing a caseload independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Duties Include:

  • Defending State Farm and its insured clients in civil litigation within Circuit and District Courts.
  • Conducting depositions, responding to discovery requests, and reviewing medical records.
  • Collaborating with clients and State Farm Claims personnel.
  • Preparing litigation summaries and reports as needed.
  • Presenting cases in court during trials.

Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the Managing Attorney. Some local travel and occasional out-of-state travel may be required.

Qualifications
Applicants must possess a law degree from an A.B.A accredited institution and demonstrate strong academic performance. An active law license to practice in Alabama and good standing with the Alabama Bar is required. Candidates should have at least 1 year of experience in civil litigation, preferably in insurance defense, and be knowledgeable about local and state discovery rules and trial procedures.

Proficiency in Windows-based operating systems, Microsoft Word, Adobe, Alafile, and Alacourt systems is essential. Experience in a paperless electronic environment is preferred. Applicants must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Work Environment
This position offers a hybrid work model, where qualified candidates will work both remotely and in the office.
