About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Credit Specialist to join our Structured Finance team. This is a unique opportunity to work with a leading bank and contribute to the success of our clients.

Job Description

The Senior Credit Specialist will be responsible for providing credit expertise to the cash flow lending/leveraged finance group within the Structured Finance team. This includes analyzing prospective loan transactions, validating credit analysis, and providing opinions and recommendations regarding proposed credit and potential risks.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in underwriting medium to large sized and moderately-complex cash flow credit, as well as experience in a banking or financial services environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review loan requests, historical financial information, cash flow projections, and third-party reporting to evaluate and determine credit structure and terms.
  • Fully underwrite Credit Risk Recommendations (CRR) consistent with Bank format, policies, and procedures.
  • Analyze industry data, competitive factors, historical performance, projected results, risks, and mitigating factors.
  • Attend client meetings to facilitate delivery of credit products and/or assist in problem resolution.
  • Provide balanced and appropriate credit guidance to Relationship Managers and collaborate in determining appropriate credit strategy.
  • Provide creative ways to structure credits ensuring that transactions are within profitability and portfolio risk standards.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in underwriting medium to large sized and moderately-complex cash flow credit.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in a banking or financial services environment.

Compensation

The estimated salary for this role is $145,000 - $245,000 per year, based on experience and location. This position is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
