UTHealth Houston is seeking a skilled Clinical Therapist to join our team at the Dunn Behavioral Sciences Center/HCPC. As a Clinical Therapist, you will provide professional case management and clinical therapeutic services in an acute care psychiatric hospital, overseeing the care of patients from admissions through discharge.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide indirect services to patients, acting as an advocate for the patient/family with the treatment team.
  • Conduct biopsychosocial/psychosocial assessments, discharge planning, and treatment that includes individual, group, and family therapy, crisis intervention, and treatment planning.
  • Oversee patient care, progress in treatment, and progress toward discharge to prevent over- or under-utilization of inpatient treatment services.
  • Work with a multidisciplinary treatment team to develop individualized treatment and discharge plans that enable patients to quickly return to outpatient treatment programs.
Requirements:
  • Current license from the Texas Board of Social Work Examiners to practice as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).
  • Master's degree in a behavioral science.
  • One year of experience in a mental health setting.
