About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Construction Line Worker to join our team at Windstream. As a key member of our construction and engineering organization, you will play a critical role in installing, repairing, and maintaining our telecommunications infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install and repair poles, cables, and conduits to ensure reliable and efficient communication services.
  • Install aerial and buried cables with associated hardware to build and maintain our network.
  • Run fiber optic and copper cable, both aerial and in underground infrastructure such as manholes.
  • Maintain the safety of the crew by providing direction on procedures, road safety, and manhole safety.
  • Attend safety meetings, maintain inventory, and perform routine maintenance tasks.
Requirements
  • Ability to use a variety of construction equipment to complete installations, such as digger derricks, bucket trucks, back hoes, trenchers, or cable plows.
  • Outside plant construction experience, including the installation, repair, and maintenance of poles and buried or aerial cable.
  • Pole climbing certification.
  • Ability to lift/push/pull up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions, year-round.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
  • Ability to work an on-call schedule rotation as well as days/nights/overnights/weekends/holidays/overtime, as needed.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass DOT certification pre-hire.
  • Minimum qualifications to obtain a CDL post-hire.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.
