Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Police Officer to join our team at the City of Edina, MN. As a Police Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining law and order, protecting the community, and upholding the highest standards of professionalism.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enforce laws and regulations, and provide for public safety through observation, investigation, and reporting.
  • Conduct interviews, interrogations, and investigations to gather information and solve cases.
  • Interact with residents, other law enforcement agencies, and the general public to provide information and answer questions.
  • Preserve the peace through conflict intervention and crowd control.
  • Provide direction and control in emergency situations, such as disasters and riots.
  • Draft and prepare reports to document incidents and investigations.
  • Testify in court as necessary.
  • Provide public services, such as emergency medical assistance, traffic control, and information to the public.
Requirements
  • A two-year degree and licensure by the Minnesota Board of Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) or eligibility to be licensed by December 1st, 2024.
  • Basic first aid and life-saving techniques.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Physical requirements include carrying a firearm, wearing protective clothing and equipment, observing and hearing commands, seeing signals, and lifting or dragging up to 100 pounds.
