Job Title: Communications Manager

University of Wisconsin-Stout is seeking a skilled Communications Manager to lead our public relations efforts and enhance our reputation in engineering, technology, design, management, and other industry-aligned fields.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in media relations, news writing, and copy editing, with experience in supervising and collaborating with content developers. They will be responsible for creating and delivering engaging internal and external news, PR, and editorial content that drives revenue, builds partnerships, and enhances brand awareness.

The Communications Manager will work closely with the Strategic Marketing Officer and other managers to ensure communications align with higher institutional priorities and strategies. They will also supervise, advise, and collaborate with other content developers, edit content, and coordinate resources to ensure all objectives are achieved on time and within budget.

This is a rare opportunity for an experienced PR and news specialist to make their mark on UW-Stout's earned media strategy across print and TV news, industry publications, radio, and podcasts.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in journalism, public relations, or a related field, with a minimum of five years of professional experience in media, communications, or related fields. They will also have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to drive, manage, and execute high-quality editorial content.
