Job Summary

The Lutheran Home is seeking a Temporary Health Information Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in compiling, processing, and maintaining medical records in our healthcare community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process patient admissions and transcribe medical reports.
  • Transmit correspondence or medical records by mail, email, or fax.
  • Answer telephones and direct calls to appropriate staff.
  • Maintain medical records, technical libraries, or correspondence files.
  • Compile and record medical charts.
  • Protect the security of medical records to ensure confidentiality.
  • Review records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with regulations.
  • Retrieve resident medical records for physicians, technicians, or other medical personnel.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Data Entry
  • Detail Oriented
  • Administration and Organizational skills
  • Previous medical records experience preferred
  • Medication and medical terminology experience preferred
