The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides high-quality patient care in a clinic setting, working collaboratively with healthcare providers to ensure excellent patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver general nursing care to patients, administering treatments in accordance with established nursing standards.
- Assist healthcare providers during examinations, testing, and treatments, ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience.
- Observe, record, and report patient conditions and reactions to medications or treatments to healthcare providers.
- Manage appointment bookings, prioritizing emergency situations and maintaining a timely patient flow.
- Obtain patient histories, vitals, and prepare patients for physical exams, instructing them on sample collection and testing procedures.
- Perform various tasks, including vital sign collection, initial patient assessments, and specimen collection, as prescribed by licensure and certification.
- Respond to incoming calls, refill prescriptions, and instruct patients on medication and treatment, documenting all interactions.
- Develop and update patient care plans, ordering and preparing patient charts, posting test results, and reviewing patient information with healthcare providers.
- Maintain patient records, files, and information in a professional manner, adhering to policies and procedures.
- Ensure exam rooms are prepared, restocked, and maintained, adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
- Participate in professional development activities, maintain licensure, and adhere to CHRISTUS Health's policies, procedures, and code of ethics.
- Follow HIPAA guidelines, maintain confidentiality, and use effective communication skills to convey ideas in a clear and positive manner.
- Support CHRISTUS Health's cultural diversity objectives and adhere to the CHRISTUS Mission and Service Guarantee.
- Graduate from an accredited school of practical nursing or vocational nursing.
- Previous medical office experience preferred.
- Valid state license to practice nursing and current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
