Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Texarkana. As an LPN, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our clinical staff.

Responsibilities
  • Assist Resident Physicians with patient assessment, testing, and special procedures.
  • Coordinate ancillary services, referrals, hospitalizations, and services with other agencies.
  • Assess patient needs for immunizations and provide education on disease prevention and management.
  • Collect laboratory specimens as ordered by physicians.
  • Assist patients to laboratory and radiology for diagnostic testing.
  • Set up equipment for testing or treatment as ordered by physicians.
  • Assist with procedures, such as pelvic exams and minor surgical procedures.
  • Triage urgent matters that occur in the clinical area.
Requirements
  • Current and valid LPN license by the State of Arkansas.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • One year of clinical nursing experience or willingness to consider new graduates with current license and one year of previous medical experience.
  • Strong organizational skills and computer knowledge.
