This position is responsible for coordinating hunter usage of lands managed by the department and assisting private landowners, enforcement personnel, and wildlife staff with compliance issues related to recreational use.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Regional Access Manager and team members to manage hunting access programs effectively.
  • Engage with private landowners and department personnel to ensure compliance with recreational use regulations.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of strategies to enhance public hunting opportunities.
  • Document and maintain records of access usage, including daily and seasonal data.
  • Respond to inquiries from landowners and the public, providing information and guidance.
  • Facilitate conflict resolution between hunters and landowners.
  • Support the dissemination of programmatic materials and information regarding hunting access.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a foundational understanding of hunting principles, regulations, and Montana's hunting heritage. Experience in agricultural practices and community engagement is advantageous. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for interacting with diverse groups.

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

This role involves frequent travel and outdoor work in various weather conditions. Candidates should be in good physical condition and capable of handling equipment and materials in rugged terrains.
