Key Responsibilities
  • Curriculum Development
    • Develop and administer mathematics curriculum aligned with school district goals and objectives.
    • Design and implement lesson plans to promote student learning and engagement.
  • Classroom Management
    • Promote a safe and inclusive learning environment that fosters student growth and development.
    • Manage classroom behavior and ensure student conduct conforms to school standards.
  • Assessment and Evaluation
    • Conduct ongoing assessment of student learning and progress.
    • Modify instructional methods to meet individual student needs.
  • Professional Development
    • Stay current with developments in mathematics education and instructional methods.
    • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills.
Requirements
  • Certification/License
    • Must hold or be eligible for Virginia Teaching License in mathematics.
  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in mathematics or a related field.
  • Experience
    • Successful prior teaching experience in mathematics preferred.
