Production Utility Specialist

Reporting Structure: Reports directly to the Production Manager
Qualifications: A High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
Shift Details: 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:20 PM
Work Environment: This position is situated in a food production and warehouse environment. The flooring is concrete, and the noise level is moderate without any significant vibrations. Material handling occurs throughout the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to company policies, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and safety regulations to comply with HACCP, AIB, and other regulatory standards.
- Implement all food safety protocols and legal obligations.
- Execute all product handling tasks within a packaging work-cell, including stacking, counting, packaging, sealing, and organizing bags into trays or boxes.
- Confirm code dates, sealing integrity, product weight, and appearance are within specified guidelines and meet client expectations.
- Ensure that trays, pallets, and boxes conform to established standards.
- Check that equipment is functioning properly and report any issues to management.
- Conduct visual inspections of products to guarantee quality standards are met.
- Assist in training new staff members as needed.
- Oversee the efficiency of bagging machine operations.
- Maintain kitchen equipment, including making necessary adjustments to raw materials and seasoning apparatus.
- Coordinate with the packing and stacking team for break coverage.
- Uphold cleanliness and order in both packaging and kitchen areas.
- Ensure accuracy in documentation and reporting.
- Comply with OSHA safety regulations and company safety policies.
- Report any safety concerns to management or the Safety Committee.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain on feet while performing repetitive tasks.
- Effective communication skills for exchanging information.
- Capability to lift, carry, push, or pull moderately heavy items as required by the position.
- Manual dexterity to operate bagging machinery.
- Ability to reach overhead, above shoulders, and horizontally.
- Flexibility to bend at the waist, kneel, or crouch.
- Visual acuity to monitor food quality and quantity.
- Capacity to stand and walk for the duration of the shift.
