Job Summary

The Respiratory Therapist at Huntsville Memorial Hospital is a critical member of our interdisciplinary team. This role involves administering therapeutic modalities, performing diagnostic testing, and providing education to patients and families. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, adaptability, and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities:

  • Administers aerosol therapy, oxygen therapy, mechanical ventilation, and other respiratory treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  • Performs EKGs, EEGs, Holter monitoring, and pulmonary function tests.
  • Documents patient care and maintains accurate records.
  • Maintains departmental equipment, adheres to infection control protocols, and participates in continuous quality improvement programs.
  • Instructs patients and families on respiratory health and disease management.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field.
  • Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) licensure.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of employment.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications within 12 months of hire.

Compensation: The estimated salary for this role is $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience. A comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off, is also offered.
