Job Summary:

The Staff RN - Ambulatory Services role at Froedtert Health involves working collaboratively as an active member of the interprofessional team to provide therapeutic patient and family centered care.

The Staff RN - Ambulatory Services systematically and continuously collects and assesses data related to patient health status to develop, execute and evaluate the plan of care.

The Staff RN - Ambulatory Services utilizes evidence to drive clinical decisions and practice related to individual and population health.

The Staff RN - Ambulatory Services establishes goals and strategies for meeting care coordination needs across settings with the patient, family, and/or other care providers.

The Staff RN - Ambulatory Services considers factors related to safety, effectiveness and fiscal accountability in planning and delivering care.

The Staff RN - Ambulatory Services delegates and supervises care in accordance with the WI Nurse Practice.

The Staff RN - Ambulatory Services participates in continuous quality improvement initiatives and assumes responsibility for their professional development.

Major responsibilities of this role include:

  • Performing/directing ACLS
  • Independent rhythm interpretation and defibrillation
  • Administration of advanced lifesaving medications
  • Independent, templated visits for patient assessment, with action taken based on established protocols and/or clinical practice standards
  • Specialty patient education where certification/additional certificate is required for role
  • Sedation
  • Telemetry monitoring & interpretation/management of rhythm changes
  • Assisting with complex procedures
  • Advanced wound therapy
  • Central line management and maintenance
  • Device interrogation and interpretation with resultant action
  • Complex infusions

Work may also include patient care coordination, direct patient care, patient education, telephone triage/eVisits, and performing/assisting with minor procedures.

May float to other areas on as needed for operations need.

Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Clinical experience and/or interest in the care and management of patient populations specific to the area of employment
  • At least 1 year of relevant nursing experience, preferred
  • Nursing licensure required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, preferred
  • Oncology certification or completion of 12 hours oncology-focused CE education/year on an ongoing basis
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent within 90 days of hire
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 90 days of hire
