POSITION TITLE: Limited Radiologic Technologist

At Arrowhead Orthopaedics, we are dedicated to delivering exceptional Orthopaedic care. WORK SCHEDULE: The successful candidate will be expected to work a total of forty hours per week, with flexibility in scheduling to ensure optimal service delivery. The employee will not exceed five working days per week. Familiarity with computer systems and the ability to adapt to various software applications used in our practice is essential. Specifics regarding hours, compensation, and benefits will be outlined as per mutual agreement.

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Under the guidance of the Supervisor, the Radiologic Technologist will ensure efficient patient flow within the radiology department and perform x-ray procedures with precision.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: The role is primarily based in the Radiology Department at Arrowhead Orthopaedics. The Radiologic Technologist will manage a high volume of work while maintaining a high standard of quality in all tasks performed. Daily interactions will involve handling confidential patient information, which must be managed with utmost privacy, discretion, and professionalism. The responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  1. Conducting x-ray examinations on patients to assist in diagnosing medical conditions.
  2. Adhering strictly to physician directives and regulations concerning radiation safety.
  3. Preparing patients for imaging procedures (e.g., removing jewelry).
  4. Utilizing ionizing radiation to capture images of anatomical structures for diagnostic purposes.
  5. Explaining the x-ray process to patients and positioning them correctly for imaging.
  6. Transporting patients between examination rooms and the radiology department.
  7. Entering patient information into the DR VXvue imaging system.
  8. Transmitting digital images from the DR VXvue system to the ramsoft PACS for review and archiving.
  9. Creating CDs of images for patients to take to other healthcare facilities.
  10. Ordering necessary supplies for the radiology department.
  11. Reviewing patient records in the EMR to ensure accurate diagnostic documentation.
  12. Generating daily x-ray logs for billing purposes and maintaining departmental records.
  13. Assisting at the Front Desk as a patient liaison when required.
  14. Performing additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

PROFESSIONAL RELATIONSHIPS: The Radiologic Technologist will maintain the following professional relationships:
  1. Direct accountability to the appointed Supervisor, with regular updates on progress, concerns, and expectations.
  2. Collaborative interactions with other office and clinical staff to foster a safe and pleasant work environment.
  3. Professional communication with medical groups and Primary Care Physicians, ensuring a commitment to quality care and patient satisfaction.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute.
  3. Competence in operating computers and scanners, with familiarity in software applications including Microsoft Outlook and EMR.
  4. Professional telephone etiquette and communication skills.
  5. Possession of a valid California limited digital x-ray license.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  1. Ability to sit and walk, with occasional stooping, reaching, and bending.
  2. Capability to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  3. Normal hearing range for effective communication.
  4. Manual dexterity to operate keyboards and office equipment.

SALARY RANGE:
$25-$35 per hour
