Key Responsibilities
The Security Operations Center Specialist plays a crucial role in managing the operations of the Security Department's Command Center. Responsibilities include:
• Responding to incoming calls with professionalism, gathering necessary information, and dispatching security personnel as needed.
• Monitoring various alarm systems, including fire, infant, panic, and access control alarms; analyzing alerts and coordinating the appropriate response.
• Utilizing the overhead paging system to communicate medical codes and summon medical staff and physicians during emergencies.
• Operating and troubleshooting CCTV systems, ensuring they function effectively.
• Maintaining and reviewing recordings from CCTV devices to assist in investigations.
• Overseeing security radio communications, providing support to field officers, and alerting relevant personnel during emergencies or unusual situations.
• Keeping detailed logs of all calls and activities in the Command Center, including monitoring contractors that may trigger alarm systems.
• Supervising loading dock activities after hours, granting access to authorized vendors.
• Notifying the Watch Commander of any suspicious activities and ensuring all critical information is passed to incoming staff.
• Ensuring a clean and safe environment within the Command Center and reporting any hazardous conditions.
Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma or GED is required.
Experience
No prior experience is necessary.
Licenses/Certifications
- Valid California Driver's License
- Valid California Security Guard Card
Work Environment
This position is categorized as non-exempt and typically requires night shifts of 8 hours.
Compensation
The base pay for this role is $34.11 per hour.
