Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacist to join our team at AlixaRx. As a Pharmacist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of medication dispensing, while providing exceptional patient care and support.
Key Responsibilities:- Review and verify prescriptions issued by physicians to ensure accuracy and determine necessary formulas and ingredients.
- Compound sterile and non-sterile medications using standard formulas and processes.
- Direct and supervise pharmacy staff in mixing, packaging, labeling, and changing prescription orders.
- Ensure the accuracy and efficient fulfillment of prescription orders.
- Dispense medications and provide counseling to nursing facility staff on prescription and over-the-counter medications.
- Advise physicians on medication therapy and provide information on products such as durable medical equipment and home healthcare supplies.
- Establish and maintain methods and styles of storage and record-keeping systems for safekeeping of medicines and pharmaceuticals.
- Promote open communication between internal and external customers to enhance cooperative efforts and improve pharmacy service and production performance.
- Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Long-term care pharmacy experience as a Pharmacist is preferred.
- License to practice pharmacy in the state of KS is required, and must be willing to obtain licensure for multiple states as requested by the Operations Manager.
- Supervisory experience is preferred.
- Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance.
- Review and assure regulatory compliance (OSHA, State Board of Pharmacy, etc.) and adhere to all Golden Living's ethics, policies, and procedures.
- Understand, promote, and comply with rules and regulations governing residents' rights.
- Keep abreast of current state, federal, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Adhere to regulatory and company compliance, Code of Conduct, and Business Ethics (OSHA, DEA, State Board of Pharmacy, etc.).
- Advise pharmacy staff on changes to any known regulatory changes/updates.
Physical and Sensory Requirements: Mobility, reaching, bending, lifting (minimum of 25 pounds), fine hand coordination, ability to read and write, the ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions and directions, ability to travel, and ability to remain calm under pressure.
