Key Responsibilities- Assist surgeons during surgical procedures by preparing and organizing the operating room, passing instruments, and maintaining aseptic conditions.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure a smooth and efficient surgical process.
- Participate in patient care during and after surgery, adhering to established policies and procedures.
- Contribute to the maintenance of a safe and clean operating room environment.
- Assist with the handling and disposal of surgical specimens and body fluids.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and surgical outcomes.
- One year of experience in an operating room or military equivalent experience in a scrub role within the last two years.
- Recent completion of an operating room training program.
- Surgical Technologist Certificate within six months of hire from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or National Center for Competency Testing Certificate - Technologist in Surgery within six months of hire.
- Basic Life Support certification.
- Ability to scrub all types of surgical cases except open heart.
