Job Description

This role plays a vital part in enhancing the commercial lending and services teams' ability to adapt and become more efficient. It involves creating, coordinating, and providing solutions to improve performance and efficiency at different team levels. The Training and Development Specialist also assists the bank's commercial lending and commercial services employees with professional development and continuous learning. The Trainer is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating training programs for commercial lending operations to ensure employees have the necessary skills and knowledge for effective performance.

This position is critical in developing a knowledgeable, competent, and compliant commercial lending team, contributing to overall organizational success and growth. The Training & Development Commercial Lending Specialist position includes responsibilities such as:

  • Program Development: Create tailored training programs for commercial lending, including online modules and workshops aligned with company objectives and regulatory standards.
  • Training Delivery: Lead interactive training sessions using role-playing and case studies, employing in-person, virtual, and blended learning methods.
  • Performance Assessment: Evaluate program effectiveness through assessments and feedback, identifying areas for improvement based on participant input and industry trends.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Stay updated on commercial lending trends, regulations, and best practices, providing expert support for complex lending issues.
  • Content Focus: Design specialized banker training covering various roles and client interactions for continuous skill development.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze training needs and develop targeted programs.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain records and generate reports to highlight program effectiveness and improvement areas.
  • Compliance and Standards: Ensure adherence to industry regulations and organizational policies, fostering a culture of compliance and ethical practices.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively enhance training methods and content using innovative solutions and technologies.

Enhance Client Service

The trainer will build and facilitate role-specific content focusing on building client relationships and utilizing vital sales tools to customize the client experience. This includes incorporating these skills with processes and procedures. Prioritizes opportunities to improve employee's knowledge to impact our clients positively. In addition to employee education, the Training & Development Commercial Lending Specialist will also collaborate to develop the client's educational experiences.

Promote Digital Awareness

Stays abreast of products and regulations. Continually seeks enhanced virtual training solutions to save costs and position the bank for long-term growth. Demonstrates forward thinking by introducing, enhancing, and supporting the culture, technology, and dependability of the SMART Centers. Provides leadership in communicating technology enhancements and fixes for software upgrades. Administers keen focus on sales tool solutions for exceptional client experiences. Responsible for updating and communicating training opportunities for all employees.

Focus on Accuracy and Attention to Detail

Keeps the integrity of intranet training resources by updating procedures as vital. Collaborates with other departments to identify training refresher opportunities. Enhances the mentor/employee relationship through continued development and measurable recognition. Supervises employee progress and is accountable to provide additional learning moments. Supports frontline questions via the Training Department email group and bell extension.

To help enhance training skills and industry knowledge, take advantage of various development opportunities by enrolling in industry-related webinars and bank-offered courses. Looks for opportunities to improve processes and procedures and utilizes futuristic training methods to ensure enthusiastic, effective training sessions. Is cross-trained to support all training department strategic goals. As professional development and experience is acquired, there will be opportunities for promotion.

Requirements

To perform this job optimally, an individual must satisfactorily perform each crucial job requirement, and a skills inventory is listed below. A bachelor's degree in education, Instructional Design, or related field experience is preferred. A criminal background check will be conducted.   • LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret documents. Possesses professional communication and social skills to write and speak optimally both one-on-one and before groups of clients or employees of the organization—the ability to communicate to clients directly and optimally.
  • TECHNOLOGY SKILLS: Ability to use telephone systems and possess good digital literacy, including email, internet, and intranet use. Prior experience or the ability to learn core transaction systems, debit card systems, statement processing systems, cash advance machines, and other computer programs pertinent to job duties.
  • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to tackle exciting problems involving several variables in a standardized situation.
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: The physical demands and work environment described here must be met by an employee to optimally carry out all vital functions of this job.

The position operates in a professional office environment with considerable time spent at a desk using office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers. The noise level is moderate, and there is constant communication and interaction with others—the ability to frequently travel to all market areas and attend seminars or training sessions offsite. Hybrid work situations are considered at the manager's discretion.
