Position Summary:

Under moderate supervision, you will perform maintenance and service repairs on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, as well as pumping, security, and sensor equipment. You will install new units or replacement parts for existing systems according to specifications and established safety protocols.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

- Overhaul and service air conditioning, heating, and ventilation equipment.
- Remove and install motors, thermostats, and humidistats.
- Repair and replace worn and broken components on condensers, compressors, and water and vacuum pumps.
- Adjust valves, piping connections, fittings, and couplings; modify electrical parts and equipment; adjust expansion valves and add gas to refrigeration units; test refrigeration equipment for refrigerant leaks.
- Maintain records and prepare reports on repairs and service performed on equipment.
- Supervise work, provide technical assistance, and conduct inspections of work completed by maintenance staff.
- Assist in maintaining the security of assigned personnel.
- Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent certification is required.
- A minimum of five (5) years of full-time, wage-earning experience in the operation, repair, and maintenance of HVAC or refrigeration systems and equipment.
- Thirty (30) semester hours from an accredited college or university may be substituted for each year of experience on a year-for-year basis, up to a maximum of two (2) years.
- Current Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) approved Type I and Type II Refrigerant Recovery Certification is preferred.
- Ability to communicate ideas and instructions clearly and concisely.
- Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age or older.

Compensation:
Pay is set at USD $24.94 per hour.
