Job DescriptionThe Operations & Information Management (OIM) Department of the Isenberg School of Management invites applications for a full-time Lecturer position in Business Statistics. The successful candidate will teach six course sections per academic year, provide departmental service, and contribute to the development of graduate and undergraduate programs.
Responsibilities include teaching multiple graduate-level sections of Statistics for Business and other courses as needed. The initial appointment will be for two years, with renewal based on performance. Lecturers at UMass Amherst enjoy significant benefits and status under the negotiated faculty contract.
RequirementsCandidates must have a master's degree from an accredited institution in an area such as Statistics, Operations Management, Information Systems, or a related discipline. A doctorate degree is preferred. Demonstrated ability or potential to teach business statistics at the undergraduate and graduate levels in face-to-face and online formats is required.
Expertise in at least one statistical software platform and Canvas Learning Management System is desirable.
About the DepartmentThe OIM Department has a thriving undergraduate program in Operations & Information Management, contributes to a highly reputed MBA program, and coordinates the Ph.D. track in Operations & Information Management for the doctoral program in Business Administration.
The Isenberg School of Management is AACSB accredited, with nationally recognized undergraduate and MBA programs ranked in the top 50 and top 25 respectively. The university offers bachelor's degrees, master's degrees, and doctoral degrees in 88 undergraduate and 72 graduate areas of study, through eight schools and colleges.
