Job Title: Oral Surgery LPN

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Chatham Oral Surgery, P.C. as an Oral Surgery LPN. This is a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced, patient-oriented service environment and be an integral part of our team.

Job Summary:

The Oral Surgery LPN will assist with pre-surgical care and education, vital tasks during surgeries, and post-surgical care. The ideal candidate will have effective interpersonal skills, proficiency with computer systems, and knowledge of electronic health records.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with patient evaluations, including taking and recording patient vital signs.
  • Accurately document patient past medical/dental history, reason for visit, and patient encounter.
  • Assist with surgical procedures, including verifying procedures, generating and completing appropriate forms, and performing clinical duties.
  • Perform recovery duties, including monitoring patient progress, providing education and discharge instructions, and discontinuing IVs.
  • Take and process digital x-rays and CT scans as required.
  • Clean and sterilize instruments as needed.
  • Check for clinical phone messages, return patient calls, and manage and document patient concerns.
  • Schedule patient appointments and place patients on appropriate follow-up and/or task lists.
  • Stock operatories, including scanning out supplies.
  • Perform daily checklist duties, including equipment checks, cleaning, and medication/supply management.
Requirements:
  • Effective interpersonal skills, including excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Proficiency with computer systems and knowledge of electronic health records.
  • Critical thinking skills and the utilization of sound judgment.
  • Ability to prioritize safety and recognize potential safety risks.
  • Knowledge of emergency procedures.
  • Practiced and effective service excellence skills.
  • Ability to efficiently and effectively manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work and maintain focus in a fast-paced, patient-oriented service environment.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude and exhibit professional conduct in all work-related situations.
