Position Overview

B Positive National Blood Services LLC is actively seeking a qualified LPN/Paramedic to contribute to our expanding operations within the blood plasma donation sector.

Availability: Monday - Friday. We offer competitive compensation along with a $3,000 sign-on bonus.

Key Responsibilities

The following duties are essential to the role and may be supplemented by additional tasks as required:

  • Evaluate potential plasmapheresis donors by conducting physical assessments and gathering medical histories, adhering to FDA-approved Standard Operating Procedures, and complying with current State and Federal regulations.
  • Review and validate donor eligibility by analyzing data and signing off on all relevant test results, ensuring accurate documentation for donor participation.
  • Support the management of donor counseling, testing, and follow-up for employee exposure incidents.
  • Deliver confidential counseling to donors who do not meet eligibility criteria.
  • Provide necessary care during moderate to severe donor reactions.
  • Assist in training staff as required.
  • Consult with the Medical/Laboratory Director in accordance with company policies.
  • Support various operational areas, including vital signs monitoring, donor registration, and laboratory processing, as needed.
  • Report any unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25 miles for training or staffing support at other facilities.
  • Perform other assigned duties as necessary.
Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Valid nursing (LPN) or Paramedic license in good standing for the applicable state.
  • Current CPR and BLS certifications.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; higher education credentials are preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient in reading and writing English.
  • Phlebotomy experience is advantageous.
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Word.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Dependable, punctual, and possess reliable transportation.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to read various documents and computer screens.
  • Capable of prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer.
  • Must be able to hear alarms and other important signals.
  • Comfortable working under observation during quality inspections.
  • Ability to work in cold environments, including subzero freezers.
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Regular use of hands and fingers for various tasks.
  • Visual acuity for close work.
  • Physical stamina to stand, walk, climb, and perform other movements as required.
  • Must wear necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves and lab coats.

  • Refractometer.
  • Safepette.
  • Vital signs monitoring equipment.
  • Memory monitoring thermometer.
  • Relative humidity monitor.
  • Scale and stadiometer.
